Good music. The right room. Every moment, considered.
Weddings, private celebrations, and select events in San Diego.
yourMoment was built around a simple idea: the music should receive the same attention as the venue, the flowers, the food, and the photography.
From the ceremony and first dance to dinner and the final song, I plan each part of the day with care. The goal isn’t to force your wedding into a standard formula. It’s to understand how you want the night to feel, then make everything flow naturally.
Planned carefully. Played in the moment.
During our planning sessions, we’ll work through the ceremony music, introductions, first and parent dances, dinner, must-plays, do-not-plays, and the reception timeline.
By the time your wedding arrives, the important decisions have already been made. That leaves me free to read the room, adapt throughout the night, and keep everything moving without pulling you away from your guests.
Personal Consultation
We start with your venue, timeline, guest mix, and the music you actually enjoy. From there, we build a clear plan for the entire day.
Professional Production
Reliable sound, a clean setup, and tasteful lighting options that complement the venue instead of overpowering it.
Music That Sounds Like You
House and techno if that’s your world. Y2K throwbacks and family favorites if that’s yours. Most weddings call for a little of both. I connect those worlds without making the night feel random.
A Dancefloor That Builds
The energy develops naturally throughout the evening - comfortable at the beginning, full when it counts, and never tied to a rigid, predetermined playlist.
Calm, Clear Coordination
Concise announcements, smooth transitions, and close coordination with your planner and vendors. Enough presence to guide the room, without turning the DJ into the center of attention.
Afterparty
If the reception ends before the night should, add a late-night extension with a more club-driven set once the formalities are over.
what to expect
A clear process from our first conversation to your final song.

Common Questions, Answered
-
I use discretion here. If a request fits naturally in your playlist, I'll work it in. If we've agreed to keep things curated, I'll hold the line on your behalf. Entirely your call from the start.
-
I'm taking bookings from May 2025, up to 18 months in advance. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we have with planning and preparation.
-
Absolutely, I can bring the full setup wherever your venue is. Interstate, remote locations, destination weddings. We make it work. Travel fees may apply depending on distance.
-
Yes, I MC the full reception: entrances, toasts, first dance cues, and everything in between.
-
I arrive at every event with backup power, a second set of decks, and spare microphones. If something goes sideways, the music keeps going. I've spent years working in high-pressure situations and know how to manage anything calmly, without it ever reaching your guests.
-
I run the Pioneer XDJ-AZ professional mixer through a QSC speaker system, built to fill your venue and make you feel every beat. For ceremonies I use lapel mics, keeping handheld mics and cables completely out of your photos. After mapping your venue during the planning stage, I can also connect you with vetted lighting vendors who understand the yourMoment aesthetic.
In Their Words
what couples say
“Jon understood the room from the beginning. He played a great mix, took our requests seriously, and kept the dancefloor full without making the night feel forced. Music was one of the things our guests talked about postiviely afterward.”
— KATIE & MAX
“Everything ran smoothly and on time. Jon was confident on the mic, knew when to step in, and never made himself the center of attention. Once dancing started, he followed the energy of the room perfectly.”
— CASSANDRA & ANDREW
“We told Jon that we didn’t want the usual wedding playlist, and he understood exactly what we meant. The music still worked for everyone, but the night felt like us. Even the friends who claimed they wouldn’t dance ended up staying on the floor.”
—RACHEL & JAKE
“Jon handled every part of the evening with care, from the entrances and first dance to the final song. What impressed us most was how naturally he brought every generation together. Our parents were dancing right alongside our friends.”
